Ambassador M Rizvi Hassen in line with the Mission’s initiative to enhance trade, investment, tourism, cultural relations and  people to people visited provinces of Gaziantep, Şanliurfa, Adiyaman and Mardin on 8-12 February. During the visit Ambassador had fruitful meetings with the Governors and the Mayors of Gaziantep, Şanliurfa, Adiyaman and Mardin.  Ambassador also had constructive meetings with Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mardin, Mr. Mehmet Ali Tutaşi, Chairman of Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Mehmet Tuncay Yildirim, Gaziantep Chamber of Industry, Mr. Adnan Űnverdi and Rector of the Mardin Artuklu University Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Ozcosar.   During the meeting with trade Chamber officials Ambassador discussed ways and means to establish contacts with the counterpart trade chambers in Sri Lanka and agreed to arrange virtual B2B match making sessions with Sri Lankan business community and trade chambers. The Embassy will soon arrange zoom meetings in coming weeks. The Ambassador also met with prominent businessmen who imports Ceylon Tea and discussed issues they come across and enhance Ceylon tea exports to Turkey. The Ambassador agreed to share their matters raised to the relevant authorities in Sri Lanka.   Ambassador during his visit to Adiyaman met with parents of two Turkish nationals died during the Easter Sunday terror attack in Sri Lanka on 21st April 2019 at Shangri La Hotel. Ambassador accompanied with the parents visited the burial grounds where late Mr. Yİğit Ali Çavus and late Mr Serhan Selcuk Narici buried and paid his respect with recitation of blessings.  Ambassador on behalf of the Government and the people of Sri Lanka expressed the condolences and expressed the solidarity with the families.  The family members expressed their appreciation for the gesture extended by the Ambassador.  The Ambassador also visited the school constructed in honour of late Mr. Yİğit Ali Çavus and met the Regional Education Director of the Adiyaman and the Principal of the school with the parents of the late Yİğit Ali Çavus.   Embassy of Sri Lanka Ankara
