The Embassy in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (SLEDB) and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka coordinated series of virtual B2B matchmaking webinars between potential Sri Lankan companies and Turkish companies covering boat building, spices, activated carbon, rubber tyres, charcoal, precious stones, coco peat sectors. The webinar on boat building sector coordinated by the SLEDB and the Mission on 12th October 2020, a prominent Turkish boat manufacturing, marine cleaning and marine waste collection company M/S Basaran and its sister company M/S Mavi Deniz, joined for the B2B matchmaking session with the M/s Walkers Colombo Shipyard. The two companies exchanged presentations of company profiles and potential areas that could establish cooperation. Both companies agreed continue their deliberations to establish business links.
Furthermore, the Embassy coordinated virtual B2B matchmaking webinar between members of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and a prominent Turkish Trade Chamber, Konya Chamber of Commerce today (13th October 2020). 20 Sri Lankan and Turkish companies in spices, activated carbon, rubber tyres, charcoal, precious stones, coco peat sectors joined the webinar. Companies attached to the two trade chambers will continue their discussions right throughout the week.
The Mission has made arrangements to facilitate several virtual B2B matchmaking webinars in ceramic, construction, gems & precious stones, spices and boat building sectors in due course.
