The Embassy following health guidelines issued by the Turkish health authorities celebrated “Sinhala & Tamil New Year” at the Embassy with the participation of Turkish government officials, Sri Lankans living in Turkey, media & Turkish friends.

During the very brief ceremony Ambassador M.R. Hassen addressing the gathering, conveyed new year wishes to Sri Lankans and also explained the importance of the new year to Sri Lankans.

After following traditional rituals, Embassy arranged couple of “Awurudu games” for the participants. The partcipants enjoyed with the games and the mouthwatering Sri Lankan delicacies. This is the first ever “Sinhala & Tamil new year” celebrated at the Embassy with the limited number of participation of Turkish friends, officials and the media.
