As a result of Embassy’s initiative to enhance trade, investment & tourism between Sri Lanka and Turkey, the Ankara Chamber of Commerce & the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce inked historical Memorandum of Understanding virtually on 29th September 2021.

 

Ambassador M.R. Hassen speaking during the signing ceremony highlighted the importance of regular interactions between trade chambers and business community in two countries and thanked two Chamber Presidents for positive responses towards Mission’s promotional initiatives. Further Ambassador indicated recently concluded Second Session of the Joint Committee on Economic & Technical Cooperation gave a motive to expedite the trade, investment & tourism engagements between two countries. 

 

Mr. Vish Govindasamy, Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce & Mr. Gursel Baran, President of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce during their remarks praised the Embassy for the initiative to connect two Trade Chambers and vowed for future broad collaborations to enhance trade, investment & tourism for mutual benefits.

 

 The session was followed by an information sharing webinar by the sectoral experts in two countries highlighting the main potential sectors. Around 120 members of two trade chambers joined the session virtually.
