The Mission drive to enhance trade between Sri Lanka and Turkey, with the assistance of Mr. Fatih Yucelik, Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka to Eastern Anatolian Region, arranged a introductory virtual meeting with the Presidents of Erzurum Chamber of Commerce and Industry , Mr. Lutfu Yucelik & Mr. Nandika Buddhipala, President of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka on 07.05.2021.
During the virtual meeting Ambassador M.R. Hassen expressed sincere appreciation to two Trade Chambers for the positive mindset to establish links to develop trade contacts and invited them to seek the possibility of entering into a Memorandum of Understanding to further strengthen the relations. Presidents of two Trade Chambers during their remarks showed their interest to organize virtual B2B networking sessions and connect with potential Turkish and Sri Lankan companies. Further, the interest was shown to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Sri Lankan and Turkish Chambers for long-term mutual benefits. Two Presidents agreed to hold follow up virtual B2B meeting with members of respective Trade Chamber in early June
Mr. Fatih Yucelik, Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka to Eastern Anatolian Region during his remarks praised two Trade Chambers to connect each other to explore more potential between two countries. Ms. Yoshitha Jayasuriya, Minister Counsellor (Commercial) of the Mission & Mr. Bandula Dissanayake, Secretary General of the National Chamber of Commerce also joined the meeting.
