Ambassador M. Rizvi Hassan at the invitation of the President of the Sri Lankan Students Association, Tbilisi, Georgia attended the annual “Ceylon Ball 2019” get together and musical show organized by Sri Lankan Students Association, Tbilisi, Georgia and Sri Lankan students studying at the Tbilisi State Medical University on 7th December 2019 which held at the restaurant Monopoli, Tbilisi.
Ambassador in his address to the students at the event assured the Embassy’s assistance to resolve issues that the students and their parents facing when they travelling Georgia and establish a mechanism to link the student community in Georgia with Mission to ensure welfare of the students. Ambassador conveyed in gratitude to the University management for effort and allowing Sri Lankan student to enroll to the University. Ambassador also wished the students for their future endeavors. The Dean of the Medical Faculty of Tbilisi State Medical University, Prof. David Topuria and his faculty members also joined at the occasion. Nearly 200 Sri Lankan students following degree programmes at the University participated at the event and enjoyed the Sri Lankan food served and Sri Lankan live musical performances played by a Sri Lankan band and a DJ formed by Sri Lankan students and singers performed were talented Sri Lankan students studying at the University. The annual” Ceylon Ball” started in the year 2013 and held annually for 7th consecutive time this year.
