Governor of Ankara, Vasip Şahin, the chief guest of the inauguration ceremony of the EXPO Travel Ankara Travel Fair 2019 highly commended Sri Lanka’s participation at the fair and said Sri Lanka’s stand was the most eye catching and the star attraction at the fair. The Governor of Ankara, Vasip Şahin, ruling AK party Ankara member of parliament Nevzat Ceylan, Deputy Metropolitan Mayor of Ankara Sercan Çığğın, Mr. Bilgin Aygül, CEO of ATIS Fairs along with Ambassador M. Rizvi Hassen unveiled Sri Lanka pavilion amidst of magul bera. The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau in Collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Turkey participated at the 04th Edition of EXPO Travel Ankara travel fair which was held at Ankara Congressium on 14th -17th November 2019. The prominent Sri Lankan travel companies, Jetwing Travels, BOC Travels and Figo Travels participated at the fair.
The Vice Minister of Tourism, Mr. Nadir Alpaslan and, Mr. Gursel Baran, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Ankara were amongst the guests who visited Sri Lankan pavilion. Hundreds of travel trade representatives, airlines representatives and business community in Ankara visited the Sri Lanka pavilion. The visitors to the Sri Lanka pavilion admired the beauty of the Sri Lanka’s presentation. Travel agents participated from Sri Lanka had highly successful B2B meetings with the prominent tour operators and travel agents and they agreed to follow up for tangible tie up with Sri Lankan travel agents. A dancing troupe “Dance Sri Lanka Narthana Nikethanaya”, from Milan staged Sri Lankan traditional dance performances at the inauguration ceremony and during 4 days of the fair and served “Ceylon Tea” at the pavilion.
