The Embassy participated at the “International Culture Day”, an annually organized event by the Ostim Technical University on 24th March 2022. This is the first time the Embassy participated at the event to showcase Sri Lankan products especially tea, spices, coconut based products, handicrafts & batik. Ambassador M. Rizvi Hassen was one of the key speakers at the symposium themed “International Cultures” organized as a sideline to the main “International Culture Day” event.

Embassies of the United States of America, United Arab Emirates, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Switzerland and Kyrgyzstan also were specially invited for the event.

Ambassador M. Rizvi Hassen in his remarks briefed on Sri Lankan history and Sri Lanka - Turkey relations between the two brotherly nations. He further added that understanding of cultures always increases existing binding relations between communities and countries which will in return increase trade and economic activities.

Students, academic staff and other foreign guests were served with Ceylon tea and Sri Lankan delicacies at the Sri Lankan stand.

Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek, Rector of the Ostim Technical University welcomed the foreign diplomats and the guests and appreciated Sri Lanka’s participation at the event.

Ostim Technical University is a foundation university which was established in 2017. University has three faculties, one foreign languages school and two institutes.
