Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Türkiye Niluka Kadurugamuwa met with Mr. Abdullah Eren, President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), on 16 December 2025, to discuss ongoing and future assistance to Sri Lanka following the Ditwah disaster.
During the meeting, appreciation was conveyed for TİKA’s prompt humanitarian response, including the deployment of an assessment team to Sri Lanka and the delivery of 3,000 emergency relief kits to affected communities. Discussions also focused on long-term recovery and reconstruction support, with particular attention to potential projects in the education, health, and reconstruction sectors in the coming period.
The Ambassador briefed the TIKA President on the current situation in Sri Lanka and the urgent need for sustained international cooperation in rebuilding efforts, while reaffirming Sri Lanka’s deep appreciation for Türkiye’s continued solidarity and partnership during this challenging time.
Minister Nilusha Dilmini and First Secretary (Commercial) Dilanga Hettiarachchi of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ankara joined the Ambassador at this meeting.
