Office of Honorary Consulate of Sri Lanka in Gaziantep officially opened

The Office of Honorary Consulate of Sri Lanka to Gaziantep, Turkey officially opened on 22 August 2022 with the participation of Ambassador M. Rizvi Hassen, Gaziantep based parliamentarians and government officials of the Gaziantep Governorate, representatives from Gaziantep Municipality.

Speaking at the occasion Ambassador Hassen expressed condolences to the families of the victims who lost their valuable lives on the recent tragic accident happened in Gaziantep.

Ambassador continued his remarks saying that by opening of Honorary Consulate in the historical city of Gaziantep where became a home of various civilizations throughout the history will further enhance existing relations with people of Gaziantep, business community and bureaucrats as there are many potentials and areas that we can explore for each others benefit perhaps benefit of the people of Turkiye and Sri Lanka.

Ambassador also officially handed over the Commission of Appointment to Honorary Consul of Gaziantep. Mr. Suleyman Cicek during his remarks assured his commitment to promote Sri Lanka in the region of Gaziantep to attract new trade opportunities, tourism and investment to Sri Lanka.
