The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ankara is pleased to announce Sri Lanka’s participation at the 5th Şahinkaya International Youth and Culture Festival, held in Bursa from 12 to 17 May 2025.
Organized by Şahinkaya Private Educational Institutions, the festival brought together international youth performers to celebrate cultural diversity and promote friendship through music and dance from several countries, including Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka was represented by 14 students from the Lakshman Manchanayaka Dance Academy, with performers of ages ranging from 13 to 17 years. The group performed a sequence of vibrant traditional Sri Lankan dances, offering the audience an opportunity to experience the island’s rich cultural traditions on 15th May 2025.
The Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Bursa, Mr. Ahmet Yildiz represented the Ambassador of sri Lanka to Türkiye at the event.
The Şahinkaya International Youth and Culture Festival served as a valuable platform to promote Sri Lanka’s heritage to an international audience and to foster cultural dialogue among youth from different countries.
The Embassy’s endorsement of Sri Lanka’s participation in such festival reflects its ongoing commitment to public diplomacy and to the promotion of Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage abroad.
