The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Türkiye participated actively in the Antalya Tourism Fair 2024, held from 23rd to 25th October, to promote Sri Lanka’s unique heritage and vibrant tourism offerings to a global audience.
The event, renowned as one of the Mediterranean region’s most productive and innovative tourism fairs, drew more than 40,000 visitors and over 748 participants, including global hospitality experts, travel enthusiasts, and Embassy representatives from more than 50 countries.
Sri Lanka’s stall showcased the nation’s exotic beaches, rich heritage, and unparalleled natural beauty, drawing significant attention from attendees. A highlight at the stall was Pure Ceylon Tea, which captivated many visitors and underscored the appeal of Sri Lanka’s authentic experiences, boosting interest in the destination as a travel hotspot. Through this presence, the Embassy successfully created awareness of Sri Lanka’s potential as an exciting tourism destination for Turkish and international travellers.
Recognizing Antalya as a prime tourism hub, Embassy officials actively engaged with industry stakeholders, fostering discussions on possible collaborations and exploring synergies with Türkiye’s tourism sector. These efforts reinforced Sri Lanka’s image as a travel destination, offering diverse and memorable experiences and creating valuable connections within the industry.
Sri Lanka’s participation was organized together with the Honorary Consul for Sri Lanka in Antalya, Mr. Ali Kamburoğlu. It consisted of material to showcase Sri Lanka’s tourism products, including tourism posters, banners, videos as well as products, including batik items. The Sri Lanka Embassy’s proactive involvement highlights its commitment to promoting Sri Lanka as a preferred tourist destination in Türkiye and beyond, contributing to the growth of Sri Lanka’s tourism industry and enhancing cultural understanding.
